Volution Holdings is comprised of five businesses, focused primarily on the UK and North European Ventilation markets; Torin-Sifan, Manrose, Fresh AB, PAX and Vent-Axia. The group manufactures and supplies an extensive range of products to the residential, commercial new build and the refurbishment sectors. These include ventilation fans, energy recovery systems plus a huge range of fans and low energy motors and blowers.

Volution has forged strong relationships with a host of specifiers and consultants, together with a number of key OEM customers. The company utilises a comprehensive network of distributors to service its market. This is, without doubt, the strongest in the industry and is a key barrier to competitive entry.

In the future, the group sees itself exploiting the growing demand for energy efficient products; in the residential and commercial sectors. On the back of its existing technologies and customers, Volution will capitalise on opportunities to leverage its brands with new products, partnerships and strategic acquisitions.

Volution Holdings Limited announced today it has acquired the assets and business of Öko-Haustechnik inVENTer GmbH (inVENTer), a leading manufacturer of decentralised residential heat recovery ventilation products in Germany. Based in Löberschütz, Thuringia, Germany, inVENTer has a significant share of the decentralised residential heat recovery ventilation market in Germany, with its products installed in both new and existing residential buildings and also sells its products across Europe.

With the purchase of inVENTer, Volution has secured the continued involvement in the company of inVENTer’s key senior management, to ensure business continuity and ongoing product innovation.

Volution’s latest investment in inVENTer marks the third acquisition for the UK-based ventilation group in the last two years and further strengthens its European position. The company already has a foothold in Sweden through its two recent acquisitions of Swedish ventilation companies: Fresh and PAX. The purchase of inVENTer complements these existing brands and further extends Volution’s geographic coverage across continental Europe.

Established in 1999 by engineer and CEO Peter Moser, inVENTer has focused its product development on its energy efficient decentralised heat recovery ventilation systems. These systems were developed by their founder in a bid to design an innovative heat recovery solution. The resulting development is both simple and effective, utilising ceramic cubes resulting in innovative, silent and energy-efficient ventilation.

In a bid to lower carbon emissions, EU building legislation is being tightened to encourage energy efficiency, which is expected to benefit the European ventilation sector as demand increases for energy efficient products. Both Volution and inVENTer are innovators in energy saving low carbon products and systems. The addition of inVENTer to the Volution brands further enhances Volution’s energy efficiency credentials and, in conjunction with the recent Swedish acquisitions, creates a platform for future expansion within the highly fragmented European residential ventilation sector.

“We are very excited to be joining Volution. We believe there are significant synergies between Volution and inVENTer with innovation core to both companies. This synergy will enable us to develop and deliver distinctive energy efficient ventilation solutions across Continental Europe.” says CEO of inVENTer Peter Moser.

“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of inVENTer, the purchase of the company adds another brand to complement our existing ventilation portfolio. Volution has ambitions to be a major player in the European ventilation market. inVENTer thus marks the next stage of our strategic growth and complements our recent Swedish acquisitions. With this in mind, I am also very pleased to advise that both Peter Moser and Annett Wettig as Managing Director, are to remain at inVENTer where their continued innovation and vision will benefit both inVENTer and the Volution portfolio as a whole.” says Ronnie George, CEO of Volution.

Vent-Axia, the market leading British ventilation manufacturer, is delighted to be ranked as a UK Business (B2B) Superbrand for 2014. The award follows robust independent research commissioned by The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA), which identifies the UK’s Superbrands in an annual league table.

This year, Vent-Axia was once again voted one of the best performing business-to-business brands, joining the likes of other Sussex Superbrands, such as Rolls Royce. From the thousands of brands initially identified in the research, just over 1,200 were shortlisted. Voters comprising an expert Council of 23 senior industry figures and over 2000 UK business professionals were then asked to judge the brands to determine the final companies that would be awarded Superbrand status.

To identify the Superbrands voters were asked to judge brands against the following three criteria: Quality: Does the brand provide quality products and services? Reliability: Can the brand be trusted to deliver consistently and maintain standards? Distinction: Is it well known in its sector and suitably different from its rivals? The best performing brands, including Vent-Axia, were awarded Business-to-Business Superbrand status.

As a Superbrand Vent-Axia is considered to have established the finest reputation in its field. As a recipient of Superbrand status the company is considered to offer customers significant emotional and/ or tangible advantages over its competitors, which customers want and recognise.

Jenny Smith, Marketing Services Manager at Vent-Axia said: “We’re thrilled that Vent-Axia has been named a Superbrand for 2014 reflecting our high standards of quality, reliability and distinction within the market. It’s a great compliment to have been awarded this prestigious UK industry ranking.”

Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of the Business Superbrands Council said: “For Vent-Axia to achieve Business Superbrand status is really positive, especially considering more than one thousand brands were evaluated in the process. Business Superbrand status is affirmation of the goodwill and positive reputation Vent-Axia enjoys within the UK among both marketing experts and business professionals alike. Achieving Business Superbrand status places Vent-Axia among an elite group of companies whose brand equity is helping to drive their business forward”.

Vent-Axia is a trusted brand with a deserved reputation for all-round excellence. It prides itself on innovation, market leadership and commercial success - the ‘go-to’ brand for the best in ventilation offering the widest choice on the market. Customer satisfaction is paramount in Vent Axia’s provision of high quality and reliable products. The past three years have seen the launch of 16 new ranges including over 200 new products. Volution is pleased to announce that they have successfully obtained Deutsches Institue für Bautechnik (DIBt) certification for the Sentinel Kinetic range of heat recovery unit.

DIBt grant technical approvals as a verification of “applicability” of construction products. This new certification ensures that the Sentinel Kinetic Plus can be sold and is recognised to be compliant with the building laws of Germany. DIBt certification also allows customers to take advantage of Federal and State subsidies for environmentally friendly building projects.

Product innovations carried out to achieve the certification have placed the Sentinel Kinetic range at the forefront of European performance standards, enhancing sales across the region and strengthening specification sales in the UK.

This latest certification will enable Volution to increase its access to the market in Germany, which will build on the existing distribution of the Sentinel Kinetic range throughout Europe. Several of Germany’s neighbour states also recognise DIBt as a de facto accreditation, enhancing our status in these emerging markets. With existing sales in UK, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, France, Poland, Hungary, Czech, Switzerland and Austria, it’s an exciting time for Volution Holdings.

Sussex-based British fan manufacturer Vent-Axia, a leader in low-carbon ventilation, was delighted to welcome Prime Minister David Cameron on a visit to its headquarters in Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, on Thursday 23 January 2014. Mr Cameron visited the successful Sussex firm to view its assembly lines that were brought back to the UK from China. The new production lines create 35 new site jobs in a tough economic climate and increase the number of its assembly staff on site employed by 50% compared to before the reshoring.

Vent-Axia completed the reshoring of the balance of its domestic fan manufacturing, from China back to the UK, in January 2013 with the launch of three new production lines at its Crawley site. The culmination of a two-year project, the new assembly lines doubled the company’s on-site manufacturing of its residential unitary fans. The company invested over £350k in tooling for the new production lines, as well as investing in building works to incorporate the new manufacturing.

On his visit Mr Cameron toured the production lines with Ronnie George CEO of Volution, Vent-Axia’s parent company, and spoke to new staff that had joined the company since the reshoring. Prime Minister David Cameron said: “I was very pleased to visit Vent-Axia to see what a positive effect reshoring has had on the company and meet the people who work there. Vent-Axia is a great example of a company that has brought manufacturing back to the UK, creating jobs for hard-working people. As part of our long-term economic plan, we will continue to do all we can to make Britain the best place to start, grow and do business.”
While at Vent-Axia Mr Cameron was also very interested to see a cheque written to the company by the former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, which paid for fans installed in 10 Downing Street in 1945. Having never been banked, the cheque takes pride of place in Vent-Axia’s reception.

Ronnie George, CEO at Volution Holdings, the group that owns Vent-Axia, said: “We are delighted Mr Cameron was able to visit our headquarters at Crawley yesterday and view our production lines. Reshoring the balance of our residential fan production to the UK made sense due to a number of factors not just from a competitive position, but also customer service and responsiveness is substantially enhanced when manufacturing our products locally.

“Increasing our UK manufacturing capacity goes to underpin Volution’s ambitions to be a more substantial international player in the ventilation market, which is illustrated by our acquisition of two Swedish ventilation companies during the last 18 months. Moving Vent-Axia’s manufacturing back to the UK allows us to both supply products abroad to the wider Volution group and prepares us for further international expansion. I was therefore delighted that TowerBrook Capital Partners backed this initiative practically on the first day of new ownership.”

Also present at the visit was Henry Smith MP for Crawley who opened the three new production lines last year. The new UK production lines have improved Vent-Axia’s service offering allowing the company to manage stock levels to help with stock availability. The UK location also makes it easier for Vent-Axia to undergo the continuous development of products and on-going design enhancements to meet customer needs, with the lead time for introduction of product enhancements or improvements reduced.

Vent-Axia employs 270 staff at its headquarters in Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex. The addition of 35 jobs at its Sussex site, including 20 new production staff and 6 service support staff, has been a welcome boost to the local Crawley job market.

As well as investing in the local economy Vent-Axia’s commitment to British manufacturing has seen the company further investing in UK logistics which has helped lower the embodied energy of products by reducing carbon emissions. A reduction in international shipping and flights has resulted in a saving of up to 15 Tonnes of CO² a year.

Headquartered in Crawley, West Sussex and with more than 75 years as an influential industry leader, Vent-Axia continues to set the standard in controlling the flow of fresh air, its temperature, humidity and cleanliness. Each year the company supplies air management solutions for over half a million installations across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors in the UK and around the World.

The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the Awards programme. The esteemed panel of judges were looking for organisations to represent the UK who exhibited the highest levels of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.

Core to Vent-Axia’s award entry was the company bucking the current economic trend by doubling its manufacturing capacity of unitary domestic fans at its UK Crawley site. The company has invested in British Manufacturing, the local economy and community with the launch of two new production assembly lines creating new site jobs. The new facilities also allow Vent-Axia to be flexible and responsive, easily making on-going design enhancements to products to meet customers’ needs, enabling the firm to continue its commitment to high quality, innovation and excellence.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards says, “Our judges were extremely impressed by the very high standard this year. Vent-Axia deserves the very best of luck in the highly competitive final round.”

London, UK, 3rd September 2013 - Volution Holdings Limited announced today it has purchased 100% of the shares of PAX the market leading manufacturer of residential fans and towel rails in the Nordic region. Based in Hälleforsnäs, in Sweden, PAX boasts a significant share of the domestic fan market in Sweden, Norway and Finland. UK-based Volution already has a firm position in the Swedish market through its investment, in October last year, in Fresh a leading ventilation manufacturer within Scandinavia, which has a robust presence in the retail sector. Volution’s latest acquisition will therefore complement its existing portfolio since PAX has established trade wholesale marketing channels within the Nordic Region.

Established in 1959, PAX has focused its product development on residential fans since the 1970s. In recent years PAX has expanded its product range to include towel rails and oil-fired heaters. The primary market for PAX is the Nordic region with a smaller but growing share of sales being generated in export markets outside the Nordic region, such as Russia and Japan. As EU building legislation tightens in order to lower carbon emissions the European ventilation industry is set to greatly benefit from the increasing demand for energy efficient ventilation products.

Both Volution and PAX are leading innovators in energy saving low carbon products and systems. The addition of PAX to the Volution therefore presents an ideal platform for future growth within the highly fragmented European ventilation market.

“We are excited about the acquisition and are very pleased to be joining Volution’s market-leading ventilation brands,” says Johan Seeman, Managing Director at PAX. Eva Thunholm, will be heading up the Swedish Division of Volution. “The acquisition of PAX is exciting news. There are significant opportunities between PAX and Fresh which will help us to develop and deliver innovative ventilation solutions to Scandinavia and wider Continental Europe,” says Eva Thunholm. “We are delighted to complete the purchase of PAX. This important addition to Volution adds another strong brand to our existing ventilation portfolio as part of our strategic growth. Boasting established trade wholesale channels to market, PAX complements our existing Swedish presence, Fresh AB, which utilises the retail sector. Both PAX and Fresh AB are powerful brands in the market with innovative distinctive product portfolios which will allow us to extend our geographic coverage across continental Europe” says Ronnie George, CEO of Volution.

London, 28 January 2013 - Volution Group Limited announces that Eva Thunholm will today join Fresh AB in the role of Managing Director reporting directly to Ronnie George, CEO of Volution Group.

Eva’s most recent role was at Södra Timber AB as Sales and Marketing Director where she worked from 2010-2012. Prior to that, Eva enjoyed a long career at Stora Enso having first started there in 1998 and continuing her personal development through their executive program. Eva holds a Master of Science in Chemical and Administrative Sciences.

Eva will be supported in a handover process by the previous owners of Fresh, Peter Iburg and Patrik Dahlberg and we expect this handover to be completed by end March 2013. The priorities in the first few weeks will be to become familiar with Fresh and its customers as well as driving the on-going integration of Fresh in to the Volution family.

Ronnie George, CEO of Volution Group said “We are very fortunate to have found a successor in Eva so soon after acquiring the business and I am also very grateful to the support of Peter and Patrik in both the selection process and the forthcoming handover”

To honour the occasion Henry Smith MP for Crawley and the Mayor of Crawley, Councillor Keith Blake, officially opened the assembly lines by cutting the ribbon at Vent-Axia’s Made in Britain launch event, followed by guests touring the new facilities.

With the Construction Products Association forecasting construction output to fall by a further 1.4% in 2013, Vent-Axia is bucking the current economic trend by doubling its manufacturing capacity of unitary domestic fans at its Crawley site. Vent-Axia is investing in Crawley, the local economy and community with the launch of the new production assembly lines creating 20 new site jobs in a tough economic climate. The company has invested over £350k in tooling for the new production lines as well as financing building works to incorporate the increased manufacturing.

“Vent-Axia is a company steeped in 75 years of British heritage and innovation. We are therefore delighted to be expanding our UK manufacturing at our Crawley site and investing in the local economy with the creation of 20 new jobs. At Vent-Axia we are committed to producing high quality innovative products and lowering carbon emissions, British manufacturing enables us to deliver this for our customers. Not only will the expansion allow improved stock control helping clients with ever tighter construction deadlines but it will also allow us to easily make design enhancements to our products,” explained Lee Nurse, Marketing Director at Vent-Axia.

Speaking at the event Henry Smith MP said: “I’m delighted that locally based, world-class and innovative company, Vent-Axia, is expanding manufacturing in the UK creating 20 extra skilled jobs. I am proud that this iconic and historic company is creating high quality products ‘made in Britain’ right here in Crawley.”

Vent-Axia employs 225 staff at its headquarters in Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex. The addition of 20 new production staff at its Sussex site will be a welcome boost to the local job market.

As well investing in the local economy Vent-Axia’s commitment to British manufacturing will see the company further investing in UK logistics which will help lower the embodied energy of products by reducing carbon emissions. A reduction in international shipping and flights will result in a saving of 15 Tonnes of CO2 a year.

With a reported turnover of approximately 136 million SEK in 2011, Fresh AB holds a major share of the Swedish residential ventilation market as well as significant sales in Scandinavia as a whole.

In addition to Scandinavia, Fresh AB supplies its own products to customers in some 25 other countries including USA, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, Belgium and the Baltic States.

The European ventilation industry is expected to greatly benefit from the increasing demand for energy efficient ventilation products driven by future tightening of EU building legislation aimed at lowering carbon emissions. Both Volution Group and Fresh AB are leading innovators in energy saving low carbon products and systems. As such, the addition of Fresh AB to the Volution Group presents an ideal platform for future growth and consolidation within the highly fragmented European ventilation market.

"We are really excited about this and we believe in significant synergies between Volution and Fresh," says Peter Iburg Co-CEO of Fresh AB.

"This will take ventilation technology to new levels and we will be able to offer new, interesting ventilation solutions to existing and new potential customers in Scandinavia," says Patrik Dahlberg, also Co-CEO of Fresh AB.

"We are delighted to complete the purchase of Fresh AB. This important addition to the Volution Group extends our geographic coverage across continental Europe.
